These two big turkey vultures (also called turkey buzzards) with red head and six-foot wingspan are part of a family of about ten that appeared hovering over the remains of flounder heads that were put back in the ocean from being filleted the night before. See previous post. Click below for video.
“Considering what they eat, these are some of the cleanest animals around. Having few feathers on their heads means they can wash them easily, and Turkey Vultures often bathe in water. They constantly preen (cleans out its feathers with its bill).” Read more.

You may have noticed the “Sponsors” in the right bar on this site. That’s Google Adsense. Google looks
at your site (both by robot and at times personally) to match up relevant ads with content on the page / site. It always amazes me to see what ads show up. Some are relevant, fit the site but always interesting. Over the weekend I had two full-sized banner ads for Disney’s Hannah Montana ringtones. Things that make you go hmmmm.
Anyway, if you do happen to see something that interests you on that right bar, please feel free to click upon it. It helps pay to maintain this site. thanks!
