“Dad” King Goose starts hissing at me when junior gets too close. Here he comes at me about 2-3 feet away before I snapped this shot…then raised my arms up high like wings hard and fast and jumped at him to shut him up.
He apologized…we moved on.

Once they spotted me a family of three wild Canada Geese swam away as fast as they could with baby pumping those feet with all he had (taking up the rear).

The largest undisturbed barrier island along the southern part of the North Carolina coast is Masonboro Island, located approximately five miles southeast of Wilmington NC. The Masonboro site is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway to the west, Masonboro Inlet to the north and Carolina Beach Inlet to the south.
