I have always wanted to fly. In the 60s they told us we would be flying to work by the 80s. Well, in 2004 the FAA opened up a new flight class, the Light Sport Aircraft category.

This is the coolest thing since Wilber & Orville’s first flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The IconA5 is in this new class. It seats two, goes on land, water and air and can fit in a garage and I want one -just as soon as I have a spare $139000 USD. In the spirit of talking about what I really like, on my iGoogle home page one of the plugins I look forward to every day is theÂ Nasa Image of the Day.

Focus on Enceladus: Ring shadows line the face of distant Saturn, providing a backdrop for the brilliant, white sphere of Enceladus. This icy moon, with its heavily modified surface and towering plume of icy material, is a target of intense study for Cassini during its Equinox mission.

This image looks toward the leading side of Enceladus (504 kilometers, or 313 miles across) and was taken in visible green light with the Cassini spacecraft narrow-angle camera on June 28, 2007. The view was acquired at a distance of approximately 291,000 kilometers (181,000 miles).

Google Offers Free 411 Calls

If you are like me, you hate having to pay 75 cents (or more) for 411 directory calls. Well, when trying to reach directory assistance for a business, Google has unveiled it’s free GOOG-411. This is really cool – it’s free and it’s easy to use. Go to the GOOG-411 site for short video and more info. The service can use voice commands which makes it great for cell phones and so far at least, has no advertising. Just program the number “1-800-GOOG-411” into your cell phone and name it “411 Google” and it will be right there at the top of yourÂ address list each time you need it. The service can also text message you more info and even map it to your web compatible cell phone.

You may have noticed the “Sponsors” in the right bar on this site. That’s Google Adsense. Google looks

at your site (both by robot and at times personally) to match up relevant ads with content on the page / site. It always amazes me to see what ads show up. Some are relevant, fit the site but always interesting. Over the weekend I had two full-sized banner ads for Disney’s Hannah Montana ringtones. Things that make you go hmmmm.

A flying car resembling what the Jetsons drove could show up soon at a dealership near you. Moller International, a company founded by a UC Davis professor devoted to developing a flying car, announced in a statement recently that it has begun production for its “Jetsons-like M200G Volantor, a small airborne, two passenger, saucer-shaped vehicle that is designed to take off and land vertically.” watch video

Peeking At Saturn
